There is just something about handmade gifts. Have you received any nice ones recently or made one for someone else? I have zero talent for such things, but I did receive some lovely ones this year.
The above purse was made by my sister Sara and given to me for Christmas. I haven’t yet had a chance to use it, but I love it.
This small case was made by my grandma and sent to me as a birthday gift. It is beautiful and very professionally put-together.
This scarf, a birthday gift, was also made by Sara.

My mom makes fantastic salads, so it always amazes me when she is able to top what she’s done with something even better. This is the salad we had with our dinner the night before Christmas.
Mixed salad greens, pistachios, red grapes, pears, dried cranberries, and homemade sherry shallot vinaigrette

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Mine was fantastic. I got the dvds I wanted, as well as some money to spend on itunes and at Barnes & Noble. What about you?
I’m still playing catch-up on outfits from early last week so it may be a while before you get to see what I wore on Christmas. Below is the third way I’ve worn my new sweater and I think it’s my favorite so far. Version 1 Version 2

I mean that literally! Our high today is 13 degrees. Thankfully I have the day off from both of my jobs, so I am staying in (unless I decide to brave the cold to go to the gym).
So the other night I had a movie night with my sisters. Movie nights were a regular occurrence back when I was still in school, but I realized last night I really hadn’t had one in quite a while.
We watched Elf, a movie that I own on dvd, but hadn’t watched in probably at least two years. Elf was the first thing in which I ever saw one of the Deschanel sisters. Speaking of the Deschanel sisters, Zooey is a special guest star on tonight’s Christmas episode of Bones. Check out the preview below. It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun!

It’s that time of year again. Have you started your shopping yet? I started mine last night. Gotta love Amazon–just what you want for terrific prices and no waiting in line with crowds of people.
